MADISON, S.D. – The Dakota State University Athletics department will be presenting the annual Terry Ryan Distinguished Service Award on Friday (Feb. 14). This year's recipient goes to Stacy Anderson, the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for DSU Athletics.
She will be honored during at the end of the third quarter and before the start of the fourth quarter of the women's basketball game during the North Star Athletic Association basketball doubleheader at DSU Fieldhouse. The Trojans battle with Mayville State (N.D.) in the annual Ag Ball contest, starting with the women's game at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
The Terry Ryan Distinguished Service Award began in 2003 with Terry Ryan as the first recipient. The award recognizes the recipient for their years of dedication, commitment, loyalty, and service to the Dakota State University Athletics Department.
Anderson has been an instructor for the College of Education and Human Performance at Dakota State University since 2019. She has been the DSU Athletics' FAR since 2020-21 academic season. She serves as a liaison between the institution and the athletics department, ensuring a balance between academics and athletics by monitoring student-athletes' academic performance.
Her roles as the FAR also include working with the eligibility team to review and certify over 500 DSU athletes' eligibility forms before they are sent to the conference NAIA levels.
Stacy and her husband Josh (DSU football head coach) reside in Madison and have three children – Lincoln, Rylee, and Bode.
