DICKINSON, N.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) was unable to score a run Saturday afternoon at Sanford Sports Complex on Bravera Field, falling in the North Star Athletic Association softball doubleheader to host-team Dickinson State (N.D.). The Blue Hawks won by scores of 9-0 and 8-0.
Dakota State dropped their overall record to 4-29 and 0-12 NSAA conference record. Dickinson State raised their overall record to 25-9 and 11-1 record in the league.
The Trojans play their final non-conference contest of the season on Tuesday afternoon. DSU returns home at Thue Field as they host Mount Marty (S.D.) in a single game. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. in Madison, S.D.
Game 1 – Dickinson State (N.D.) 9, Dakota State (S.D.) 0 – FINAL/5 innings
Hannah McFarland recorded the first hit of the game for Dakota State. She swiped to second base with one out and could not score.
Dickinson State poured in six runs in the bottom half of the first inning on six hits, highlighted by Bailey Hansen's RBI triple. Cassidy Venner capped the six-run production with a 2-RBI double for 6-0 lead. The Blue Hawks extended their lead to 7-0 in the bottom second.
Celina Wilharm hit a 2-run home run in the bottom fourth inning as Dickinson State's lead grew to 9-0.
DiSU outhit DSU 10-2 in the game.
McFarland had a single, walk, and stolen base for the Trojans.Â
Jordyn Jeffries added a single.Â
Katie Hansen registered a walk.
Wilharm led the Blue Hawks with a home run, single, and drove in three runs. Venner added a double and two RBIs. Brooke Lijewski had two hits and an RBI. Hansen and Kiley Hubby each added a hit and an RBI. Ashlee Potter had two hits, a walk and scored three times.
Makenna McGee (L, 0-4) took the setback after starting the game with one out in the first inning for DSU.Â
Maycee Bricker tossed 3 2/3 innings in relief.
Alison Eldridge (W, 11-5) earned the victory for DiSU. She worked for four innings and limited the Trojans to two singles. She registered four strikeouts. Reanna Butler tossed a shutout fifth inning in relief.
Game 2 – Dickinson State (N.D.) 8, Dakota State (S.D.) 0 – FINAL/5 innings
After a scoreless first inning in the NSAA four-game series finale, Dickinson State scored three runs in the bottom second inning to take a 3-0 lead after Allyson Farrington's RBI single. She added another RBI single to capped DiSU's 3-run production in the bottom fourth for a 6-0 lead.
Kara Conway ended the game in the bottom fifth with an RBI single to secure an 8-0 victory for Dickinson State.

Hannah Feser were hit-by-pitch for the Trojans.Â
Michelle Evdos added a walk.
Farrington had two singles and two RBIs for the Blue Hawks. Lijewski and Conway each added two hits. HaiLeigh Davis had two RBIs. Hubby had a double and two RBIs.Â
Analicia Burgos (L, 0-9) recorded the defeat in the pitching circle for DSU. She tossed 3 2/3 innings and allowed five runs on six hits.Â
Mason Usselman pitched for two outs in relief.
Hope Fath (W, 6-1) tossed a complete game shutout victory for DiSU. She registered three strikeouts.
