DES MOINES, Iowa – Dakota State (S.D.) men's team closed out their three-day Drake Relays Friday morning in the distance medley relay. The prestigious annual outdoor track & field meet was held at the Bulldog Stadium, their 115
th year of running of the meet hosted by Drake (Iowa).
Nolan Slominski kicked off with the 1200-meters time of 3 minutes, 14.94 seconds. He handed the baton to
Lukas Bennett where he clocked a time of 50.10 seconds in the 400-meters leg.
Mohamed Muse recorded a time of 1 minute, 56.71 seconds in the 800-meters. The final leg, the 1600-meters ran by
Evan Armstrong, registered a time of 4 minutes, 33.19 seconds.
DSU finished with a time of 10 minutes, 34.94 seconds in the race. Their time is the ninth fastest in the Trojan men's outdoor track distance medley relay history, surpassing the 1975 relay team of Galynn Huber, Toney Blanks, John Campbell, and Joe Tomscha.
Dakota State wraps up their regular season action with a pair of meets next week. The Trojans make their fourth trip to Mankato, Minn., Wednesday for the NCAA Division II meet, the Maverick Open #1 hosted by Minnesota State-Mankato. DSU then travels to Vermillion, S.D., next Friday and Saturday for the NCAA Division I, the University of South Dakota Tune-Up.
