KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dakota State (S.D.) was one of the three Frontier Conference teams to be listed in the 2025 NAIA Women's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, announced by the national office Thursday.
The preseason Top 25 is the first step in a march toward Tallahassee, Fla., in the 46
th annual Women's Cross Country National Championship at Apalachee Regional Park on Nov. 21.
The Trojans received seven points in the national poll, listed in the receiving votes section. Montana Tech ranked No. 23 with 121 points, followed by Carroll (Mont.) No. 24 with 87 points.
DSU is coming off from the North Star Athletic Association Women's Cross Country title last season, returning eight runners from the squad this year.
Valerija Curikova,
Lindsey Roth,
Kierra Miller, and
Brooke Beaucaire were named for the All-Conference last season.
Curikova earned NAIA All-America status in 2023 for Dakota State. Roth ran in the NAIA national cross country meet for three consecutive seasons.
The Trojans were picked to finish third in the Frontier Conference Women's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll with 84 points and a first-place vote. The conference meet will take place at Amend Park in Billings, Mont., on Friday, Nov. 7.
Dakota State kicks off their 2025 cross country season on Friday, Sept. 5, in the NCAA Division II Augustana (S.D.) Twilight meet at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, S.D.
