NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – The (RV) Dakota State (S.D.) volleyball team opened its season with a dominant straight-set sweep over Missouri Valley, winning 25-9, 25-10, 25-15 at the CNOS Fieldhouse. The Trojans, along with five other Frontier schools – Bismarck State (N.D.), Dickinson State (N.D.), Mayville State (N.D.), Rocky Mountain (Mont.), and Valley City State (N.D.) – are competing in the two-day Siouxland Invitational.
Match Overview
Dakota State controlled the match from the opening serve, hitting an impressive .395 as a team while holding Missouri Valley to a -.023 efficiency. The Trojans' balance of strong serving and net presence proved decisive, racking up 12 service aces and 11 blocks compared to Missouri Valley's three aces and zero blocks.
Set Highlights
- Set One (25-9): Dakota State raced ahead early with kills from Halle Bruflat and Maddi Langerock, never trailing after a 2-2 tie. Bruflat's offensive firepower helped the Trojans finish with a .542 attack percentage in the set.
