NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – The Dakota State (S.D.) University volleyball team stayed perfect this season early Saturday afternoon, rolling past Doane (Neb.) of the Great Plains Athletic Conference in three straight sets (25-22, 25-12, 25-16) at the CNOS Fieldhouse. With the victory, the Trojans (receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 national poll) improved to 3-0 overall, while the Tigers fell to 1-2 overall record.
Set 1 Highlights
Doane opened strong and even led midway through the first set, but Dakota State's offense came alive late. Behind kills from
Lauryn Kloth and
Tristyn Maras, the Trojans closed the set 25-22.
Set 2 Highlights
Dakota State's serve and block proved overwhelming in the second frame.
Kate VanRooyan sparked a serving run with four aces in the set, while the Trojans limited Doane to just .-033 hitting. The Trojans pulled away 25-12.
Set 3 Highlights
DSU continued to control the tempo with efficient attacking and strong defense.
Kloth and
Maras combined for clutch swings, while the Wathen sisters anchored the back row. The Trojans sealed the sweep with a 25-16 win.

- Dakota State hit an impressive .350 as a team with 45 kills, while holding Doane to .102.
- Kloth (11 kills, .667 hitting, 3 blocks) led all attackers.
- Maras recorded a match-high 12 kills, 14 points.

- Macey Wathen chipped in 8 kills (.500) and steady defense.
