Trojans drop 4-1 women’s soccer contest at Briar Cliff (Iowa)

Dakota State (S.D.) could not hold on to 1-0 lead after Chargers scored four unanswered goals

September 10, 2025

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Dakota State (S.D.) struck first but couldn't withstand Briar Cliff's (Iowa) four unanswered goals, falling 4–1 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at Faber Field.

Freshman forward Clarissa Knoll opened the scoring in the 24th minute, finishing a feed from Kirsten Piskorski to give the Trojans (0-6-1 overall record) a 1-0 lead.

The advantage was short-lived, as the Chargers (2-3-0 overall record) responded with two goals in a two-minute span late in the first half—Sadie Jones tied the match in the 40th minute off a setup from Sierra Brooks, and Tamzin Hilton netted the go-ahead tally in the 41st with help from Ondine Manceau.

Briar Cliff carried that momentum after the break. Brooks struck twice more, scoring in the 47th minute from Manceau and again in the 59th minute with an assist from Farrah Thompson, sealing the 4–1 decision.
