SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Dakota State University Trojan men's cross-country team delivered a runner-up finish with 46 points Saturday morning at the Sunflower Open. A total of 81 runners competed in the 8K racecourse at Defender Cross Country Course on the campus of Dordt (Iowa).
The host team Defenders, ranked No. 18 in the NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll, captured the team title with 24 points. Northwestern (Iowa) was third with 90 points, followed by Mount Marty (S.D.) fourth with 100 points.
The Trojans averaged 27 minutes, 16 seconds as team and registered a total time of 2 hours, 16 minutes, 22 seconds as a team (top five runners).
