MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) announced their 2026 outdoor track & field schedule Tuesday. The Trojans prepare for a busy spring with eight consecutive weekends of track & field meets before taking a week off before the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in late May.

Dakota State begins their outdoor season on March 21 as they travel to Fayette, Mo., for the Central Methodist Open.
The Trojans prepare for numerous two-day track & field meets, starting on March 27-28 in the Wayne State (Neb.) Wildcat Open. DSU heads to Vermillion, S.D. during Easter weekend on April 3-4 for the University of South Dakota Early Bird meet.
Dakota State then heads to Sioux City, Iowa, on April 10-11 for the Sioux City Relays. The Trojans stay in the state of Iowa on the following weekend on April 17-18 for the Red Raider Open hosted by Northwestern (Iowa).
Dickinson State (N.D.) will host the Frontier Conference Multi-Events Championships on April 18-19 at Biesiot Activities Center in Dickinson, N.D.
DSU will be in various meets during the week of April 20-24, starting on April 22 at the Mount Marty (S.D.) Twilight meet. The Trojans will take their selected athletes to the prestigious outdoor track & field meet in the Drake Relays, held at Bulldog Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 23-25. DSU will also participate in the Viking Classic on April 24, hosted by Grand View (Iowa) in Des Moines.
Dakota State returns to Dickinson on May 2-3 for the two-day Frontier Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
DSU then heads to their regular season finale with two meets, competing for their final opportunities to qualify for the NAIA national meet. Dakota State will host their home meet, the Trojan Last Chance on May 6, and closes their regular season schedule at the University of South Dakota Twilight meet on May 8 in Vermillion.
The 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships will be held at Karl Straus Track in Asheville, N.C. The three-day national meet starts on May 20 and runs through May 22.
