ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Four Dakota State (S.D.) men's athletes produced personal record marks Thursday afternoon on the first day of the Red Raider Open at De Valois Stadium, hosted by Northwestern (Iowa).
Zachary Haugen was second in the hammer throw, tossing the NAIA "B' mark of 56.02 meters (183 feet, 9 inches) for the Trojans.
Tarin Bingham added a career best 53.14 meters (174 feet, 4 inches) to place third.
Luke Borowicz followed up with a fourth place with 50.63 meters toss (166 feet, 1 inch) toss. Lukus Mentlee was sixth with 49.28 meters toss (161 feet, 8 inches) and
Dylan Johansen eighth after throwing a personal best 49.01 meters (160 feet, 9 inches).
Oliver Tordsen threw 46.81 meters (153 feet, 7 inches) in the hammer throw for DSU.
Trenton Moran hit 44.80 meters (146 feet, 11 inches) and
Keegan Hensley with 41.68 meters (136 feet, 9 inches).
Miles Eide threw 49.78 meters (163 feet, 4 inches) to finish sixth in the javelin for Dakota State.
Xander Sheehan followed up with an eighth-place finish with 47.40 meters mark (155 feet, 6 inches). Talon Goerge registered 43.40 meters (142 feet, 4 inches), followed by
Bergen Irey with a personal record 40.26 meters (132 feet, 1 inch), and
Kolter Simon with 38.88 meters (127 feet, 6 inches).
Rasmus Loke finished in a tie for second in the pole vault, clearing the height of 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3.5 inches). Irey added a personal best 3.60 meters (11 feet, 9.75 inches). Eide and George (personal record) both cleared the height of 3.00 meters (9 feet, 10 inches).
A pair of DSU runners ran in the 5000-meter run.
Holden Jelen clocked a time of 17 minutes, 24.70 seconds.
Jonah Thiele added a time of 17 minutes, 52.42 seconds.
Dakota State continues their action on the second day of the Red Raider Open, with the events starting at 11 a.m. Friday.
