Resseguie’s 3-run walk-off home run lift DSU to Frontier softball split with Providence (Mont.)

Dakota State stormed back with a pair of home runs in bottom seventh of game two to earn a doubleheader split with Argos

April 2, 2026

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Dakota State (S.D.) split a doubleheader against Frontier Conference's co-leader Providence (Mont.) Thursday at the American State Bank Sports Complex.  The Argos shut down the Trojans 9-0 in five innings in the four-game series opener.  DSU roared back in the final inning of the second game, erupting for four runs after a pair of home runs by Alexia Hayden and 3-run walk-off home run by Alexis Resseguie for 6-3 victory.

It was the first win for the Trojans in the all-time series with the Argos, where they won the previous three meetings (first two meetings were during the NAIA's unaffiliated conference tournaments in 2010's).

Dakota State improved to 9-21 overall record and 3-9 record in the Frontier Conference.  Providence is 15-16 overall record and fell one-half game behind the conference's leader Valley City State (N.D.) with 7-3 league record (VCSU with 6-2 conference record)
