SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Providence (Mont.) took the Frontier Conference softball series victory over Dakota State (S.D.) Friday morning with a pair of wins at American State Bank Sports Complex on the campus of Dordt (Iowa). The Argos completed the doubleheader sweep scores of 7-3 and 7-4 to earn a 3-1 series victory over the Trojans.
Dakota State fell to 9-23 overall record and 3-11 record in the Frontier Conference. Providence lifted their overall record to 17-16 and is currently tied in the league in winning percentage with Valley City State (N.D.). The Argos are 9-3 record in the Frontier contests.

Game 1: Providence (Mont.) 7, Dakota State 3 – FINAL
Providence jumped out early and never trailed, using a pair of home runs from Tehneson Ehnes to power a 7-3 victory in the opener.
Ehnes delivered the first home run in the first inning with a two-run homer, then added a solo shot in the third to extend the lead to 4-0. The Argos added two more runs in the fifth and another in the sixth to maintain control throughout.
Dakota State responded in the third inning, capitalizing on Providence miscues to score two unearned runs.
Emmalynn Rabe drove in a run on a groundout, and
Alexia Hayden followed with a sacrifice fly. Hayden later added an RBI single in the fifth to account for the Trojans' third run (DSU trailed 6-3).
Providence totaled 10 hits, led by Ehnes (3-for-4, 4 RBIs, 2 HRs) and Aleana Aionaaka (3-for-4, 3 runs). Alix Bishop added two doubles and an RBI.
Dakota State finished with eight hits, with
Gabrielle Ortega-Alves and
Quincy Hartley each collecting two hits. Hayden drove in two runs.
UP's Alix Bishop (W, 2-2) earned the complete-game victory, allowing three runs (one earned) on eight hits while striking out five and walking five.
Makenna McGee (L, 1-3) took the loss for DSU, allowing four runs in four innings, while
Grace Kitterman surrendered three runs in three innings of relief.

Providence completed the sweep behind a 14-hit attack in game two, pulling away late for a 7-4 win.
The Argos struck first with two runs in the second inning, highlighted by an RBI triple from Madison Moultray and a sacrifice fly by Tiffany Fuentes. They added another run in the third before Dakota State answered with a two-run third inning, sparked by RBI hits from Rabe and
Julia Maldonado (UP leads 3-2 after three innings).
After trading runs in the fourth and fifth innings (UP leads 5-4 after five innings), Providence extended its lead with an RBI double by Tehneson Ehnes in the sixth and a solo home run by A. Bishop in the seventh.
Dakota State collected 10 hits in the game, led by Hayden's 3-for-4 performance.
Hannah McFarland added two hits and an RBI, while Rabe, Maldonado, and Hartley each drove in a run.
Providence's offense was paced by Moultray (3-for-4, triple, RBI) and multiple players with two hits, including Aionaaka, Yeoman, Ehnes, and A. Bishop.
Moultray (W, 9-4) earned the complete-game win, allowing four runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts.
Maycee Bricker (L, 5-7) took the loss for Dakota State, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 14 hits.
