YANKTON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) men's outdoor track & field squad produce numerous personal and season best marks at the Mount Marty (S.D.) Twilight meet at Williams Field. Numerous local schools competed in the meet.
Xander Sheehan threw a season best 48.60 meters (159 feet, 5 inches) to place fourth in the javelin for the Trojans.
Kolter Simon added a personal record 45.24 meters (148 feet, 5 inches) to finish seventh.
Trevor Heinz claimed a runner-up honor in the long jump, leaping 6.34 meters (20 feet, 9.75 inches) for DSU.
Tanner Drietz added a fifth-place finish with 6.23 meters (20 feet 5.25 meters) jump, followed by
Daniel Agyeman with 5.74 meters mark (18 feet, 10 inches) to finish eighth.
Zachary Haugen also earned a runner-up honor in the hammer throw, tossing the NAIA 'B' mark of 55.66 meters (182 feet, 7 inches).
Tarin Bingham added a fifth-place finish with 52.38 meters toss (171 feet, 10 inches), followed by
Lukus Mentele with 47.43 meters toss (155 feet, 7 inches) for a ninth-place finish.
Dylan Johansen threw 46.93 meters (153 feet, 11 inches),
Trenton Moran 43.19 meters (141 feet, 8 inches), and
Keegan Hensley 40.24 meters (132 feet).
Johansen posted his season best 15.63 meters (51 feet, 3.5 inches) to finish fourth in the shot-put. Moran added a season best 14.73 meters (48 feet, 4 inches) to place eighth, followed by Mentele with a ninth-place finish after throwing 14.34 meters (47 feet, .75 inches). Hensley tossed 13.37 meters (43 feet, 10.5 inches).
Mentele placed sixth in the discus with 47.55 meters toss (156 feet), followed by Haugen with his season best 45.33 meters (148 feet, 8 inches) for ninth place. Borowicz threw 43.14 meters (141 feet, 6 inches), Johansen 40.90 meters (134 feet, 2 inches), Moran 38.74 meters (127 feet, 1 inch), and Hensley 36.74 meters (120 feet, 6 inches).
Dawson Miller cleared the high jump of 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10.75 inches) for the Trojans.
Rasmus Loke tied his personal record of 3.85 meters clearance (12 feet, 7.5 inches) in the pole vault.
Finley McConniel clocked his personal record 4 minutes, 22.01 seconds in the 1500-meter run.
Holden Jelen recorded a time of 4:27.17, followed by
Benjamin Strunk with a season best time of 4:28.47 and
Kaiden Akey in 5:39.92.
Aaron Van Hemert registered a personal record time of 51.40 meters to finish fifth in the 400-meter dash.
Payton Anderson added a season best time of 53.15 seconds, followed by Heinz in 54.91 seconds, and
Mattix Hausman in 55.36 seconds.
Connor Schmidt recorded a time of 11.63 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
David Brock ran a season best time of 2:11.39 in the 800-meter run, followed by
Hunter Dimick in 2:58.91.
Lukas Bennett was seventh in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 21.81 seconds.
Jagger Lombard was tenth in 22.04 seconds, followed by
Ben Witt in 22.67 seconds, and Schmidt in 24.21 seconds.
Dakota State continues their busy week of outdoor track & field meets. The Trojans begin their action in the prestigious 116
th annual Drake Relays Thursday afternoon and continue through Saturday afternoon. DSU will have numerous events on Friday at Bulldog Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
