DES MOINES, Iowa and ST. PETER, Minn. – Dakota State (S.D.) concluded their busiest men's outdoor track & field week Saturday in two different meets, the 116
th annual Drake Relays at Bulldog Stadium and Drake Alternative meet held at Gustie Soccer Field/Track Complex on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.).
Dakota State highlighted the day with four event titles at the Drake Alternative meet.
Drake Relays
Two DSU throwers competed on the final day of the Drake Relays.
Xander Sheehan posted his season best 50.03 meters mark (164 feet, 1 inch) in the javelin.
Tysen Grinde threw 48.27 meters (158 feet, 4 inches).
Drake Alternative
Lukas Bennett sparked the Trojans with a pair of sprint titles, hitting a personal record of 10.65 seconds to win the 100-meter dash title.
Jagger Lombard was third with 10.93 seconds, followed by
Talon George with a personal record 11.19 seconds.
James Burke registered a time of 11.32 seconds and
Trevor Heinz in 11.55 seconds.
Bennett also won the 200-meter dash title with a season best time of 21.60 seconds. His time is the 10
th fastest time in the DSU men's outdoor track & field school record book.
Ben Witt clocked a time of 23.28 seconds in the race.
Witt produced a season best time of 51.02 seconds to place fifth in the 400-meter dash for DSU.
Payton Anderson finished with a time of 53.63 seconds.
Oliver Tordsen claimed the discus title after throwing NAIA 'A' standard mark of 52.13 meters (171 feet) for the Trojans.
Zachary Haugen added 40 meters toss (131 feet, 2 inches) to finish ninth.
Keegan Hensley threw 39.69 meters (130 feet, 2 inches).
Haugen won the hammer throw title with 54.26 meters toss (178 feet).
Tarin Bingham threw 50.98 meter (167 feet, 3 inches) to place second, followed by
Luke Borowicz with a fourth-place finish after throwing 46.11 meters (151 feet, 3 inches).
Tordsen was second in the shot put after tossing 15.40 meters (50 feet, 6.25 inches).
Dylan Johansen was fourth with 14.68 meters (48 feet, 2 inches), followed by Hensley fifth with 13.21 meters mark (43 feet, 4.25 inches).
Brock Krueger placed third in the high jump after clearing 1.85 meters (6 feet, .75 inches).
Dawson Miller and
Bergen Irey both cleared the height of 1.75 meters (5 feet, 8.75 inches).
Rasmus Loken cleared the height of 3.58 meters (11 feet, 9 inches) in the pole vault for DSU. Irey posted a clearance of 3.28 meters (10 feet, 9 inches).
Heinz earned a second-place finish in the long jump after leaping 6.45 meters (21 feet, 2 inches).
Tanner Drietz was sixth after leaping 6.04 meters (19 feet, 9.75 inches).
Daniel Agyeman jumped 5.66 meters (18 feet, 7 inches).
Drietz placed sixth in the triple jump, leaping 12.18 meters (38 feet, 11.5 inches).
Holden Jelen clocked a season best time of 2 minutes, 1.14 seconds in the 800-meter run.
Dawson Miller also added a season best 2:01.41, followed by
Finley McConniel in 2:04.02, and
Grayson Madsen in 2:10.40.
Blake Schmiedt ran a time of 4 minutes, 18.6 seconds in the 1500-meter run for Dakota State.
David Brock recorded a time of 4:28.97 and Madsen in 4:38.01.
Jonah Thiele collected a third-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:56.29.

The two-day conference meet starts next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (Central Time)/2:30 p.m. (Mountain Time) with the javelin, long jump, and pole vault.
