DICKINSON, N.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) is currently fifth in the 2026 Frontier Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships late Saturday at Biesiot Activities Center. The two-day conference meet is being hosted by Dickinson State (N.D.).
Carroll (Mont.) leads the men's team standings after the first day with 70.5 points, edging Dickinson State second with 67 points. Montana Tech is third with 44 points and Bismarck State (N.D.) fourth with 32 points.
The Trojans collected their most points in the hammer throw with 17 total points, highlighted by
Zachary Haugen with a national qualifying mark and personal best 58.45 meters toss (191 feet, 9 inches). He finished second in the hammer throw, falling by .38 meters. His mark is the third best in school history and ranks No. 10 in the NAIA.
Tarin Bingham also hit a personal record 53.45 meters (175 feet, 4 inches) to place fourth in the hammer throw for DSU.
Lukus Mentele added sixth place with 51.17 meters toss (167 feet, 10 inches), and
Oliver Tordsen eighth with 49.13 meters (161 feet, 2 inches).
Dylan Johansen placed ninth with 48.45 meters (158 feet, 11 inches), followed by
Luke Borowicz 10
th with 47.34 meters (155 feet, 3 inches).
The day kicked off with the 10,000-meter run.
Joshua Tucker placed tenth with a time of 35 minutes, 32.22 seconds, followed by
Finley McConniel 11
th in 35:43.17. Benjamin added a time of 36 minutes, 16.63 seconds.
Xander Sheehan threw 47.48 meters (155 feet, 9 inches) in the javelin, finishing 11
th.
Miles Eide followed up with 12
th place with 47.33 meters (155 feet, 3 inches).
Kolter Simon added 44.95 meters (147 feet, 5 inches), followed by
Tysen Grinde with 44.94 meters toss (147 feet, 5 inches).
Grinde leaped 6.30 meters in the long jump (20 feet, 8 inches), followed by
Trevor Heinz with 6.22 meters leap (20 feet, 5 inches), and
Tanner Drietz 6.19 meters (20 feet, 3.75 inches).
Talon George recorded 6.06 meters (19 feet, 10.75 inches) mark.
Grinde cleared the pole vault with 4.35 meters mark (14 feet, 3.25 inches).
Rasmus Loken cleared the height of 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3.5 inches), while Eide tied his personal record 3.60 meters mark (11 feet, 9.75 inches).
Bergen Irey cleared the height of 3.30 meters (10 feet, 10 inches).
Grinde clocked a time of 15.61 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles prelims, placing 10
th.
Lukas Bennett clocked a personal record time of1 10.46 seconds to place second in the 100-meter dash for the Trojans. His time is sixth fastest in school history and advanced to Sunday's 100-meter dash finals.
Jagger Lombard added 10.71 seconds to place ninth in the prelims, George 12
th in 11 seconds, and James Bruke in 11.17 seconds.

Logan Recoy, and
Tyler Nicke teamed up with a time of 7 minutes, 59.02 seconds to place third in the 4 x 800-meter relay.
The running events closed with the 400-meter dash, led by Bennett with an eighth-place finish in 51.17 seconds.
Ben Witt finished 10
th in 51.43 seconds,
Aaron Van Hemert 52.47 seconds, and
Franklin Johns in 52.74 seconds.
The second day of the conference meet is set for Sunday at 10 a.m. (Mountain Time) and concludes with the 4 x 400-meter relay at 5 p.m. (MT). This is the final Frontier Conference championship event of the 2025-26 academic year.
