SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Dakota State (S.D.) returned to indoor track & field action Saturday in the Dordt (Iowa) Open, held at the Recreation Center. The Trojan women's squad collected an individual title, while seven athletes established personal records at the meet on the campus of Dordt.
Anna Schneider won the 800-meter run title for DSU, clocking a time of 2 minutes, 24.39 seconds.
Lindsey Roth followed up with a third-place finish in 2:27.83.
Presli White was eighth with a time of 2 minutes, 30.35 seconds in her indoor debut.
Saddie Palmquist was ninth in 2:37.09.
Kierra Miller was fourth in the 1-mile run, clocking a time of 5 minutes, 38.34 seconds.
Bella Maxwell earned the runner-up honor in the weight throw, tossing 14.85 meters (48 feet, 8.75 inches) for DSU.
Lilly Young followed up with a fourth-place finish with a personal record 14.27 meters toss (46 feet, 10 inches).
Kiana Mounga added a personal record 14.07 meters (46 feet, 2 inches) to place sixth.
Gabriella Peitzmeier was tied for seventh after throwing 13.69 meters (44 feet, 11 inches).
Other Trojan weight throwers results include
Rebecca Hazlett with a personal record 12.82 meters (42 feet, .75 inches),
McKenna McIlravy – 10.91 meters (35 feet, 9.5 inches), and
Mia Mather – 7.99 meters (26 feet, 2.75 inches).
Maxwell was fifth in the shot put for Dakota State, throwing 11.33 meters (37 feet, 2.25 inches). Young added a personal record toss of 11.16 meters (36 feet, 7.5 inches) for sixth place finish, followed by
Alivia Bickett with a seventh-place finish with a toss of 11.01 meters (36 feet, 1.5 inches).
Casey Olson threw 10.22 meters shot put (33 feet, 6.5 inches).
Brooke Beaucaire produced a career best 11 minutes, 10.20 seconds in the 3000-meters, collecting third place honor for Dakota State.
Madelyn Sylva added a personal record time of 11:19.77 to finish fifth.
Amelie Steins leaped a career best 5.36 meters (17 feet, 7 inches) to earn a runner-up honor in the long jump. Her jump mark is the third best in the DSU women's indoor track & field school record book. Olson registered a personal best mark of 4.95 meters (16 feet, 3 inches) to finish sixth in the vent.
Steins clocked a time of 8.18 seconds for the third fastest time in the 60-meter dash prelims for Dakota State.
Bethany Lawson followed up with the fourth best prelims time of 8.23 seconds.
Bridget Bartling clocked a time of 8.49 seconds, while
Shakiera Gronenthal finished with a time of 9.27 seconds.
Steins improved her prelims' time to 8.15 seconds in the 60-meter dash finals, finishing third overall. Lawson also improved her time to 8.22 seconds to place fifth in the finals.
Lawson was ninth in the 200-meter dash in 28.25 seconds. Bartling finished the race in 29.38 seconds. Gronenthal clocked a time of 1:12.52 in the 400-meters.
Olson registered a time of 10.64 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
Alyssa Koffler added a time of 11.22 seconds in the race. Olson cleared the height of 1.40 meters (4 feet, 7 inches) in the high jump for the Trojans.
The indoor track & field meet was wrapped up with the 4 x 400-meter relay. Steins, Lawson, Palmquist, and Schneider finished third with a time of 4 minutes, 22.49 seconds.
Dakota State heads to USD DakotaDome next Saturday for the NCAA Division I meet, the University of South Dakota Invitational. The meet is set to start at 12 p.m. in Vermillion, S.D.
