MADISON, S.D. - Dakota State University Esports is set to compete in the upcoming
CCL LAN event. All three of our competing teams qualified for LAN.
League of Legends, Valorant, and Rocket League are gearing up to represent DSU on the main stage against top collegiate programs from within CCL.
League of Legends
The DSU League of Legends team enters the LAN as the
#4 seed, facing off against
#1 North Dakota State University in the opening match. The Trojans have continued to grow stronger throughout the season, showcasing strong coordination and adaptability. This will be one of the final LAN events for much of this roster, as the team only has one more semester together before several players graduate.
The
DSU League of Legends team features a skilled and experienced lineup of
Brooks Jansen (Brooksii),
Brock Zirpel (Fuyou),
Micah McRunnel (M3LM0),
Christian Lor (Tankize), and
Connor Ford (ThunderSPTN), with
Coordinator Caleb Sechler (Bread3njoyer) providing strategic support. Since joining Dakota State,
Assistant Esports Coach Evan Lawson has played a key role in the team's development and competitive growth, helping prepare them for one of their final LAN events together before several players graduate.

Valorant
After graduating their entire previous roster, DSU's
all-new Valorant team has made an impressive debut season, securing the
No. 2 seed for the LAN, ending the regular season 5-1. This young and determined squad will face
[3] Lake Area Technical College in the semifinals. These young Trojans look to build on their early success and establish themselves as a long-term powerhouse within the conference under the coaching of previous champions Aleksander Billey and
Austin Kaiser.

Rocket League
Dakota State's
Rocket League team returns to LAN as the
defending champions, aiming to be the first
back-to-back CCL title holders in Trojan Rocket League History. As the
No. 1 seed, DSU will open its campaign against
No. 2 South Dakota State University in what's expected to be an exciting rematch. The team has maintained strong chemistry and consistency all season long, setting its sights on another championship banner. They end their regular season undefeated, losing only one match throughout the regular season.
The
DSU Rocket League team is composed of
Zander Rimmer (Hypnotic),
Preston Sandquist (Pmoney), and
Samuel Kronaizl (Samule), with
Coordinators Josh Horn (Omegablaze) and
Patrick Rau (Patdown) acting as the team's leadership. This championship-caliber squad returns to the CCL LAN as the defending champions, aiming to secure back-to-back titles and further solidify Dakota State's dominance on the Rocket League stage.
