DSU battled fiercely in their long-awaited rematch against NDSU—the very team that ended their championship run last season—but ultimately fell in a hard-fought
1–2 series loss. After dropping Game 1, DSU roared back with a dominant Game 2 victory led by standout performances across the map, forcing a decisive Game 3. Despite strong objective control and several momentum-shifting teamfights, DSU couldn't hold off NDSU's late-game pressure, falling in the final siege as NDSU closed out the series.
Though the result mirrors last season's championship outcome, DSU showed clear growth, resilience, and the potential to challenge for the title again. DSU looks to secure a third place finish in CCL this season Sunday.
