MADISON, S.D. – No. 5 ranked Dakota State (S.D.) senior forward
Tabor Teel was tabbed by the Frontier Conference as the Women's Basketball Defensive Player-of-the-Week, presented by Erck Hotels. The fourth installment of the basketball weekly honors were announced Tuesday by the conference office.
This is the second time this season that Teel received the weekly honors from the Frontier Conference. She swept both offense and defense weekly honors earlier this season.
She averaged 9.0 defensive rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game as the Trojans went 1-1 record for the week, despite a 4-point setback to NAIA's No. 1 rank Dordt (Iowa) followed by a 105-57 victory at Bellevue (Neb.) in the Frontier Conference season opener.
Teel recorded three steals in both games during the week for DSU. She also grabbed 10 defensive rebounds and registered two blocks during the game at Bellevue.
Tabor, a native of Colton, S.D., is a business major at Dakota State University.
Dakota State (4-1 overall record, 1-0 Frontier) begins their season-long six-game home stand at DSU Fieldhouse this weekend. The Trojans continue their conference action versus (RV) Providence (Mont.) on Friday and MSU-Northern on Saturday. Both games are set for 5 p.m. tip-off.
