DES MOINES, Iowa – Five Dakota State (S.D.) men's athletes were in action on the second day of the 115
th annual Drake Relays at Bulldog Stadium Friday. All collegiate levels from NCAA Division I to NAIA competed in the annual prestigious outdoor track & field meet in the nation.
Chantz Minear started the day in the 110-meter hurdles for the Trojans, clocking a time of 14.36 seconds. He finished 17
th overall in the race.
Nolan Slominski ran the 800-meter run at the Kip Janvrin Open at Simpson (Iowa) in Indianola, Iowa. A total of 100 runners competed in the 800-meter run, where Slominski finished fourth with a season best time of 1 minute, 53.34 seconds.
Dakota State closed the day in the sprint medley relay during Friday evening's session at Bulldog Stadium.
Lukas Bennett ran the 200 meters with a time of 22.35 seconds, followed by
Ben Witt with the 200 meters time of 22.44 seconds.
Witt handed the baton to
Mohamed Muse for the 400-meter dash time of 49.41 seconds.
Curtis Johnson wrapped up the sprint medley relay in the 800-meters time of 2:01.30.
The Trojans finished 11
th overall with a time of 3 minutes, 35.49 seconds.
Dakota State has one men's event remaining in the Drake Relays on Saturday morning. The team of Slominski, Witt, Muse, and
Evan Armstrong will run in the distance medley relay at 9:25 a.m.
