MADISON, S.D. – The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The list was announced earlier this week Tuesday.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track & field honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Five Dakota State (S.D.) athletes were named to 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field team. They are (name – year – hometown – major – events at NAIA national meets/national awards):
- Tysen Grinde – sophomore – Spring Grove, Minn. – computer science – NAIA Outdoor Track & Field All-America decathlon – qualified for NAIA Indoor Track & Field in heptathlon
- Curtis Johnson – junior – Indianola, Iowa – cyber operations – NAIA Outdoor Track & Field national qualifier in 4 x 800-meter relay; NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-America in 4 x 800-meter relay
- Evan Armstrong – sophomore – Aurora, Colo. – cyber operations – NAIA Outdoor Track & Field national qualifier in 4 x 800-meter relay; NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-America in 4 x 800-meter relay
- Nolan Slominski – sophomore – Blair, Neb. – cyber operations – NAIA Outdoor Track & Field national qualifier in 4 x 400-meter relay; NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-America in 4 x 800-meter relay and qualified for 800-meter run
- Zachary Haugen – senior – Bath, S.D. – physical education – NAIA Outdoor Track & Field national qualifier in hammer throw
Grinde, Johnson, Armstrong, and Slominski were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, which will announce the final team in mid-July.
