AUSTIN, Texas –
Nolan Slominski of Dakota State (S.D.) was selected to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team in the NAIA division, the full list of NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA divisions were announced Wednesday.
Four of the 20-member Academic All-America® NAIA men's track & field/cross country teams boast a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) in their undergraduate or graduate work. The entire 20-man team combined for a collective 3.85 undergraduate GPA.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
Slominski competed in two events at the 2025 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. He was a member of the Trojan 4 x 800-meter relay team with
Evan Armstrong,
Curtis Johnson, and
Franklin Johns that finished sixth in the national final with a time of 7 minutes, 45.21 seconds. The relay team claimed the NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-America status, the second straight year that Slominski earned the All-America award in the 4 x 800-meter relay.
The indoor 4 x 800-meter relay team finished with a time of 7 minutes, 40.06 seconds in the national semifinals, which advanced them to the national finals. That time is the second fastest time in the DSU men's indoor track & field school record book.
Slominksi also ran in the 800-meters at the 2025 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. He finished eighth in the semifinals with the DSU school record time 1 minute, 52.25 seconds and advanced to the national finals where he placed ninth in 1:53.49.
He also broke the DSU's indoor track & field school record in the 600-meter run during the 2025 season with a time of 1 minute, 19.80 seconds during the South Dakota State D2/NAIA Open.
Slominski was also a member of the indoor distance medley relay team with Armstrong,
Braden Peterson, and
Caleb Sayler with posted the fifth fastest time in the school record book. They registered a time of 10 minutes, 20.39 seconds in the Mount Marty Invitational.
Slominski competed in the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 4 x 800-meter relay with Armstrong,
Mohamed Muse, and Johnson. They finished with a time of 7 minutes, 56.31 seconds and did not advance to the national finals.
Slominski earned five North Star Athletic Association All-Conference honors, three indoor events and two outdoor events. He was a member of the conference champion in the 4 x 800-meter relay and 4 x 400-meter relay, as well as All-Conference in the 800-meter run during the NSAA indoor track meet.
He added a pair of NSAA outdoor track conference champions in the 800-meter run and 4 x 400-meter relay for the Trojans. He had accumulated 11 NSAA All-Conference honors at DSU.
Slominski earned NAIA and NSAA Scholar-Athlete awards for his academic success in the classroom.
Nolan, a native of Blair, Neb., will be a junior next season. He majors in cyber operations at Dakota State.
