Champions of Character award was presented during awards ceremony on Nov. 12 in Helena, Mont.

November 17, 2025

MADISON, S.D. – The 2025 Frontier Conference Women's Volleyball Champions of Character recipients, presented by WinWon Technology, were announced during the awards ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 12, prior to the conference tournament hosted by Carroll (Mont.) College at the PE Center on Nov. 13-15.

The head coach from each Frontier Conference member selects the recipient that fits to the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative program's five cores that include integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

The mission of the NAIA's Champions of Character program is to provide training to instill the values that build character so that students, coaches, and parents know, do, and value the right thing on and off the field.

The Champions of Character program helps participants find balance by keeping the five core values – integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership – at the heart of the athletics experience.  In the NAIA, we strive to be The Right Way To Play!

Junior right side and setter Keira Murdock was selected as Dakota State's recipient to the Frontier Conference Champions of Character in women's volleyball.

"Keira exemplifies the five core values, she is a team leader," said head coach Amy Veenhof.  "She does a fantastic job leading our youth camps and organizing special events such as Pink Night, Little Trojans, Mental Health Awareness, and more for our team."

"Keira is a team player that always has a positive attitude and is very supportive of her teammates and coaches," added Veenhof.

Dakota State ended their 2025 season with an overall record of 16-13, their third consecutive winning season.
