LINCOLN, Neb. – Dakota State (S.D.) had two events listed in the school's 'Top 10' record book Saturday on the second day of the NCAA Division I indoor track & field meet, the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska at Devaney Center Indoor Track. The Trojans also had three athletes producing NAIA national qualifying standards in the meet, which featured numerous athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and junior colleges.
Lukas Bennett clocked a time of 22.22 seconds, tying for 12
th place finish in the 200-meter dash for the Trojans.
Nolan Slominski clocked the NAIA 'B' provisional qualifying time of 1 minute, 53.79 seconds in the 800-meter run. He finished 12
th overall in the race.
Evan Armstrong added a career best time of 1 minute, 56.26 seconds for an 18
th place finish.
Caleb Sayler registered a career best time of 8 minutes, 37.25 seconds to finish seventh in the 3000-meter run. His time is the third fastest time in the DSU men's indoor 3000-meter run school history.

Chantz Minear posted the NAIA 'A' automatic qualifying time of 7.92 seconds to earn a runner-up honor in the 60-meter hurdles.
James McClain tossed the NAIA 'B' provisional qualifying mark of 16.01 meters (52 feet, 6.5 inches) to finish eighth in the shot put.
Lukus Mentele added 15.11 meters toss (49 feet, 7 inches) to place 11
th.
Dakota State wrapped up the indoor track & field regular season meet with a season best time in the 4 x 400-meter relay. The members of Bennett,
Franklin Johns, Slominski, and Minear clocked a time of 3 minutes, 21.69 seconds to place tenth. Their time is the second fastest in the DSU men's indoor track & field school record book, just two seconds over for producing the NAIA 'B' provisional qualifying time.
Dakota State prepares for the 2025 North Star Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships next Sunday (Feb. 16). The conference indoor track & field meet takes place at Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on the campus of NCAA Division I South Dakota State in Brookings. The first events are scheduled for 10 a.m.
