SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Close to three hundred (300) men's runners from numerous NCAA Division II schools along with local NAIA schools competed in the Augustana (S.D.) Invitational Friday morning at Yankton Trail Park. Dakota State (S.D.) ran on the 8K racecourse for the first time this season.
The Trojans finished 14
th as a team with 442 points. A total of 19 teams scored in the meet, won by No. 19 ranked Washburn (Kan.) of NCAA Division II with 54 points.
Gideon Hammah of NCAA Division II University of Mary won the 8K individual title in 24 minutes, 9.8 seconds.
TayShaun Cudmore was the first to cross the finish line for Dakota State, clocking a time of 26 minutes, 40.3 seconds.
Benjamin Strunk followed up with a time of 26 minutes, 46.3 seconds.
Brendan Gillaspie finished with a time of 26 minutes, 55.5 seconds.
Evan Armstrong ran in the first meet this season for the Trojans, finishing with a time of 27 minutes, 6.3 seconds.
Finley McConniel followed with a time of 27:07.5 to round out the team's top five place finishers to their team score.
