NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – The Dakota State women's cross-country team, receiving votes in the latest NAIA Women's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 national poll, competed Saturday morning at the Briar Cliff XC Invite in the scenic Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve. The women's 6K race featured schools from NCAA Division I and Great Plains Athletic Conference foes, with a total of 111 runners in the field.
Team Standings
NCAA Division I South Dakota captured the team title with 25 points, followed by Creighton (Neb.) second with 42 points. No. 9 ranked Dordt (Iowa) finished third with 69 points. Morningside (Iowa) edged Dakota State by one point (134-135) to finish fourth. Concordia (Neb.) was sixth with 147 points, and Northwestern (Iowa) seventh with 176 points
Individual Results
- Brooke Beaucaire led the Trojans with a career best 6K time of 22 minutes, 42.59 seconds to finish 17th. Her time is the second fastest 6K in Dakota State women's cross country school history in the 6K.
- Lindsey Roth was 31st in 23 minutes, 41.41 seconds for DSU, followed by Valerija Curikova 33rd in 23:45.01, and Paige Willnerd 34th in 23:52.92.
- Madelyn Sylva clocked a time of 24 minutes, 16.59 seconds to place 42nd for Dakota State. Kierra Miller finished the race in 25 minutes, 10.36 seconds. Anna Schneider recorded a time of 25 minutes, 38.38 seconds.

Dakota State continues their cross-country action next Saturday as they return to Sioux Center, Iowa, for the second time this season. The Trojans compete in the Holiday Inn Express Classic at 10 a.m., hosted by Dordt (Iowa) at their cross-country course on the campus.
